On May 24, 2019, the European Commission adopted a new set of regulations for the operation of drones across Europe. The regulations apply in Germany starting from December 31, 2020.
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in Germany is transferring the EU regulations into the national law. The followings are some general rules for drone flight operations.
Fly below the altitude limit of 100 meters above the ground
Always maintain line of sight of the aircraft
Do not fly in and over sensitive areas
Do not fly over crowds
Drone operators must have liability insurance
Respect privacy of others and do not film/take pictures of anyone without their expressed consent
